Homegrown Stories: A Pittsburgh Playhouse / City Theatre Collaboration | Thu August 6, 2020

Free! Part of The Show Must Go On(line) series. “Homegrown Stories” is a new collaboration between Point Park University’s Pittsburgh Playhouse and City Theatre, challenging five local playwrights to each write a 10-min plays for a digital medium in response to our current world. The playwrights — all of whom are Pittsburghers — include Ngozi Anyanwu (The Homecoming Queen off-Broadway), Marcus Stevens (Game On at CLO Cabaret), TV, film and stage writer Matt Pelfrey, Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre founder and leader Mark Clayton Southers and Tammy Ryan (ATCA Francesca Primus Prize winner for her play Lost Boy Found in Whole Foods). This one-night only digital reading of the resulting works will be followed by a talkback with the creative team.
