Membership Criteria

To become a member of The Global Switchboard, a prospective organization or individual must be active within one or more of our 3 target areas of global engagement and equity:

• Education & Global Learning: Ensuring equitable access to global learning opportunities for all

• Diversity & Inclusion: Promoting cultural diversity and exchange for a welcoming and inclusive region for all

• Innovation & Sustainable Development: Championing the sustainable and equitable allocation of resources for an inclusive economic ecosystem in Pittsburgh, and abroad

Prospective members must also affirm that their work embodies the following values:

• Global: Our members value global engagement and take local action

• Empathetic: Our members value compassion for others and act accordingly

• Equitable: Our members value justice and fight for equality.

• Diverse: Our members value inclusivity and recognize difference as a resource.

Membership Tiers

The Global Switchboard has five membership options that differ in benefit and cost.

Anyone with a profile on The Global Switchboard Hub is considered a Member in our Membership Network

AMENITIES

Access to Switchboard network events and programs, in addition to a profile on the Hub.

COST

This level of membership comes with no fee.

--Member Plus

For individuals and organizations interested in a more involved level of membership, but who may not have the need for a physical space with The Global Switchboard

AMENITIES

MemberPlus includes the same benefits as a Member, and also includes:

• Discounts to Switchboard Public Events, including HUB + SPOKE

• Inclusion of your events and news in The Switchboard Newsletter (organizations only)

• Featured on Switchboard Social Media (organizations only)

• MemberPlus status for staff (organizations only)

• 50% discount on event and meeting space at the Switchboard Space (organizations only)

COST

MemberPlus comes at an annual fee based on the size of your organization.

--Resident Member

Organizations and individuals who are interested in becoming part of The Global Switchboard Network and need the benefits of a physical office space can apply for three different types of Resident Membership.

Flex Resident Membership

Organizations and individuals who need a physical space to work, but not necessarily a dedicated desk.

AMENITIES:

• Profile on the Switchboard HUB with indication of membership level

• Access to Switchboard network events and programs

• Discounts to Switchboard Public Events, including HUB + SPOKE

• Inclusion of your events and news in The Switchboard Newsletter

• Featured on Switchboard Social Media

• Member Plus status for staff

• Event and meeting space at Switchboard Space

• Invitation to resident only meetings and events

• Full use of office amenities:

–Unrestricted access to the building

–Printer, copier, scanner

–Reservable meeting and event space

–Bottomless fair trade coffee

–WiFi

–Physical mailing address (305 34th St. Pittsburgh PA 15201)

–Parking

COST:

Flex Resident Membership is $150/ month/ per person.

Resident Membership

Organizations and individuals who need a dedicated desk inside our physical space to work.

AMENITIES:

Resident Membership includes the same benefits as a Flex Resident, and also includes:

• A dedicated desk in our co-working space

• Your organization logo displayed in our building.

COST:

Resident Membership is $200/ month/ per desk.

Anchor Resident Membership

Organizations and individuals who need a dedicated office inside our physical space to work. This membership is available on a limited basis.

AMENITIES:

Anchor Resident Membership includes the same benefits as a Resident Membership, and also includes:

• A private office

• Your organization logo displayed in the front door
